I attended the NJCAA 2017 Men’s Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame All-Star weekend, which was held Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The weekend began Friday evening with the NJCAA Men’s Basketball Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony at 6:00 p.m. in the Orleans Arena.

This year’s 2017 Hall of Fame inductees are Flint native and former Coffeyville (Kansas) guard Craig Tucker, Flint native and former Trinity Valley (Texas) and Brown Mackie (Kansas) forward Eddie Robinson, current Lansing (Michigan) head coach Michael Ingram, Joliet (Illinois) head coach Joe Kuhn and former Vincennes (Indiana) sports information director Robert Stevens.
Each inductee was given the opportunity to speak during the ceremony. The inductees and keynote speaker (Former head coach of the University of Wisconsin Badgers men’s basketball team) Bo Ryan shared great wisdom and provided outstanding speeches that inspired and motivated the 2017 All-Star players and guest.
My cousin Craig Tucker one of the 2017 inductees gave an outstanding speech and shared a very touching story. He also encouraged the All-Star and high school players to attend class, study, maintain a high GPA, stay out of trouble and work hard. I truly enjoyed listening to each speaker.
The All-Star game was held the following day on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 4:30 p.m. During halftime the inductees received their Hall of Fame ring and plaque. It was an exciting weekend!
I truly enjoyed watching the All-Star game with my family, it brought back fond memories of me being a high school cheerleader, attending high school and college games, and watching my cousin’s play Varsity basketball.
Congratulations to Flint natives Craig Tucker and Eddie Robinson plus all of the NJCAA 2017 Men’s Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductees.
