Today is ‘May 17’ World Hypertension Day: Get your blood pressure checked today or next week

The world recognizes ‘May 17’ as World Hypertension Day. Learn about hypertension and know your numbers. Get your blood pressure checked today or next week.

Hypertension (high blood pressure) is known as the silent killer.

I encourage individuals to get their blood pressure checked, along with receiving an annual physical exam.

During your annual physical exam, a health care provider will check your blood pressure. If your blood pressure is elevated, your doctor will determine if you need medication and/or other treatment options.

Know Your Numbers Get your blood pressure checked by a trained professional at your
doctor’s office, pharmacy, health department, local mobile health unit or home
