Navy Veteran Patrick Jones walks again after an accident left him in a wheelchair: He walks across the Brooklyn Bridge

On October 30, 2021 my Godbrother Navy Veteran Patrick Jones accomplished his goal by walking across the Brooklyn Bridge.

It’s been almost four years since his accident and Patrick (Pat) will not give up! He definitely shows determination and perseverance.

According to Patrick, “I’ve run my fair share of road races over the past 20 years, from 5K’s to full marathons. Too many to count, in both big cities and small towns. A major goal of mine since my injury has been to get back to participating in road races.

The New York City Marathon has been on my to-do-list for the last 10 years or so. I’ve watched it many times on television. Something about crossing bridges into every borough seemed like a worthy challenge. Although I may not be ready just yet to tackle a full marathon, there’s nothing keeping me from crossing the most iconic bridge in New York. The Brooklyn Bridge!”

Flint native who resides in Atlanta.
