Since we just celebrated Thanksgiving, this is a great time (After Thanksgiving Holiday) to learn about a vegetarian and flexitarian lifestyle.
You know the saying ‘You are what you eat’ well that’s not always the case, but healthy eating along with daily exercise is recommended to improve our health.
A vegetarian lifestyle has great health benefits. Research shows consuming a plant-based vegetarian diet can reduce your risk of developing cardiovascular disease, hypertension, Type 2 diabetes and some forms of cancer.
A vegetarian is a person who consumes fruits, vegetables, grains and proteins. The protein consumed comes from non-meat items.

I do not consider myself a vegetarian, instead I am known as a semi-vegetarian or “flexitarian” who consumes meat 25-50% of the time. I must admit, changing my lifestyle has improved my overall health. I’m proud to call myself a flexitarian.
