February is Heart Month: This month is a great time to try Meat-free Friday

February is Heart Month and a great time to try Meat-free Friday. Enjoy eating vegetarian foods all day.

A vegetarian lifestyle has great health benefits. Research shows consuming a plant-based vegetarian diet can reduce your risk of developing cardiovascular disease, hypertension, Type 2 diabetes and some forms of cancer.

I am a flexitarian who consumes meat 25-50% of the time. My Meatless Days are usually Meatless Monday, Without Meat Wednesday and Meat-free Friday. Becoming a flexitarian has improved my overall health.

When I eat meat it is usually chicken and turkey as well as fish and salmon. Learn about a vegetarian and flexitarian lifestyle.

I also avoid eating shellfish because unfortunately I developed a shellfish allergy 13 years ago. So I am currently Livin’ healthy with a Food Allergy
