Today is Meatless Monday: Enjoy eating plant-based vegetarian foods all day

Today is Meatless Monday and that means consuming plant-based vegetarian foods all day.

If you are not interested in consuming vegetarian foods seven days a week, try consuming vegetarian foods every Monday.

A vegetarian lifestyle has great health benefits. Research shows consuming a plant-based vegetarian diet can reduce your risk of developing cardiovascular disease, hypertension, Type 2 diabetes and some forms of cancer.

A vegetarian is a person who consumes fruits, vegetables, grains and proteins. The protein consumed comes from non-meat items.

I do not consider myself a vegetarian, instead I am known as a semi-vegetarian or “flexitarian” who consumes meat 25-50% of the time. Changing my lifestyle has improved my overall health, from the hair on my head to my toes.
